Hi everyone,

I’m hosting a fireside chat on Tuesday 21 July at 5:30pm at Launchpad, focused on how to build a pre-seed start-up (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/building-a-pre-seed-start-up-tickets-1990908369527?aff=oddtdtcreator)

The event is aimed especially at young people, students, aspiring founders and early-stage builders who are interested in starting something of their own, but may not yet know where to begin.

I’ll be hosting alongside local influencer Percy Hampton, with a panel bringing together a mix of local and international start-up experience, including:

An MBE recipient and local investor
An ex-Tier 1 VC-backed Web3 founder who worked with two top 50 global blockchains and built a company valued at £250m at its peak
A young Island venture-backed founder & my former co-founder Joshua Sinclair
An Island-born former Deliveroo/Yelp employee who now works as a community leader at one of the largest start-up communities globally

We’ll be covering the basics of building a pre-seed start-up, including how to find a real problem, shape an early idea, speak to users, understand your market, think about funding, and avoid some of the early mistakes founders often make.

The aim is to make the session practical, honest and useful for the right people, especially those on the Island who are curious about start-ups but may not yet have access to these kinds of conversations.
