Launchpad Summer Cricket Day 2026: A Recap

On Friday 28 August, the Launchpad community traded laptops for cricket bats at Crosby Cricket Club for our first Summer Cricket Day.

Quick answer: Launchpad Summer Cricket Day is an informal outdoor social for the Isle of Man startup community, held at Crosby Cricket Club in Crosby, and sponsored by Clay.

No agenda, no talks, no clipboard. Just the community, a cricket pitch, and an afternoon outdoors. Some people played, some watched from the boundary, most did both.

Thank you

Thank you to Clay for sponsoring the day and making it possible. And thank you to everyone who came down and joined us — the turnout is what made it work.

Why we did this

The Isle of Man startup community is small and close-knit, and that's an advantage worth using. A day like this gives people a reason to meet outside the usual event format — no pitching, no panels, just time together.
