98% of the code written with AI. 100% directed by a person. Michel Rento and Kenny Diack on the human's job when AI writes the code.

Six months ago, OceanRoot's game engine was a spinning cube on a screen the size of a postage stamp. Today it renders a 46-million-triangle island at around 60 frames a second, on a phone and in a browser tab.
98% of the code was co-written with AI. 100% was directed by a person.
Michel Rento is that person. He and Kenny Diack are at Launchpad to talk about the human's half of the deal: how you stay in charge of code you didn't type, and how you make sure the AI never makes the same mistake twice.
What they'll get into:
Why a five-person game studio built its own engine What the human's job is when AI writes most of the code Catch it, understand it, lock it: the three-step loop Why your lessons should live in files you own, not in the model The one question to ask after every AI mistake
Then get hands-on. For the last 20 minutes, the OceanRoot team will run live demos of their engine. Try a Meta Quest 3 headset, play their first game, and ask Michel and Kenny anything.
Who it's for: Founders and developers building with AI. Anyone using AI at work, code or no code. Investors backing teams that ship with AI. And anyone who fancies trying VR on a Thursday evening.
Free to attend. The talk will be recorded for Launchpad's YouTube channel. The showcase won't be.
