What They Mean for Manx Business

Event Details
Join the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce for a practical, business-focused introduction to Data Asset Foundations (DAFs) and the opportunities they could create for Manx businesses.
This session will explore what Data Asset Foundations are, why the Isle of Man has created the framework, and how they could be used in practice. Through straightforward explanations and practical examples, we will look at the types of business challenges DAFs could help address, how organisations could unlock greater value from data, and where new commercial opportunities may emerge.
The session will take businesses through the journey from understanding the concept to considering where they could fit within the developing DAF ecosystem:
What is it? → What could you do with it? → How would it work in practice? → Where could my business fit?
Designed for a broad business audience, the event will be particularly relevant to those working in financial and professional services, CSPs and fiduciaries, insurance, technology and AI, compliance, and data-intensive businesses, as well as organisations that hold valuable or currently underused datasets.
The emphasis will be on clear, relevant information and real-world application, rather than a technical workshop. Technical and legislative aspects will provide important context, but the focus will remain firmly on what DAFs could mean for businesses and the Isle of Man's wider economy.
The morning will conclude with a panel discussion and audience Q&A, providing an opportunity to explore practical opportunities and challenges directly with Chris Reilly, the DAF Team and other contributors.
