Steven Ferrario from Domicilium came into Launchpad on 20 August to walk through what the cloud actually is, how to pick between public, private and shared cloud, and what AI means for your data.
A few things that stuck:
Doesn't matter what business you run, your data's already on the cloud somewhere: email, invoicing, customer records, all of it.
The US Cloud Act means the US can access data held by any American-owned hyperscaler, like AWS or Azure. Part of why data sovereignty is becoming a bigger conversation, even for small businesses.
If you're rolling out AI tools like Co-Pilot, do a proper risk assessment first. Staff stumbling onto payroll data through search is a real failure mode, not a hypothetical.
